White wine neutralizing the red wine stain?! Wow that’s pretty genius. Thanks for the tips, this is definitely worth saving. I have also heard that salt can work to neutralize the stain as well as to soak up the liquid.
It’s so important to blot the stain and not rub or press into the carpet. Often times our clients have attempt to remove the stain by “scrubbing” it out and are upset the problem went from a 5 to an 8 or 9. Often times people don’t realize rubbing or scrubbing can damage the carpet fibers all the way down to the base, and then like you said, irreparable damage can be caused. Great job reiterating how important it is to just blot the stain in order to prevent further damage.
